Meanwhile, in Yemen… (WATCH)

14 May

A friend at work sent me this and I thought it was a pretty interesting watch… A little odd maybe, but interesting none-the-less.

Yemen isn’t somewhere I think about often, and when I hear the name, I (unfortunately) think of the show “Friends” and Chandler’s escape plan from Janice, more than I think of a country that is struggling to survive.

I wonder what it would take to get camel jumping into the Olympics… 🙂

Leave Work at 5:30? (WATCH!)

11 Apr

I just happened upon this, while on Mashable. It’s pretty impressive that this woman is willing to stand publicly and say she’s leaving work, but then again, when did things get so competitive and so relentless that leaving work at the close of business was something we had to fight for or be ashamed of, anyway?

Work/life balance is an important part of being a professional. It’s an important part of being human. With the demands on people to impress, over-achieve and over-index on the success-o-meter, having a family (or even a life) outside of work, get more and more complicated.

Balance is healthy. Being able to achieve greatness professionally, while maintaining a successful personal life (especially when children are involved) may be hard to do, but in my opinion, it should never be looked down on.

That said, this is a pretty cool video from Facebook’s COO… too bad the embed code’s not functioning correctly… maybe someone left work on time to be with their kids though, so click the link and don’t be lazy.

Stop #Kony NOW (WATCH!)

7 Mar

Please watch this video in it’s entirety. It’s a little lengthy, so you may want to wait until after work tonight, but it’s SO extremely important.

I’m passionate about many things, yes, but life and freedom to live, is more important to me than anything else on earth. For many of us, we adore the things that our lives are filled with – music, movies, family time, etc.- but for some, life itself is something they run from, in fear, every day. For many, life is filled with so much pain and fear, that it seems pointless to want to live another day with the only future they can understand.

Please take 29:59 minutes out of your day and your comfortable life, to watch this. Then, take 2 minutes to see how you can help stop this man, Kony, bringing peace, safety and hope for a chance at life, to these children.

Living In Los Angeles – Chapter One

Beta Wolf is from Los Angeles. We had an idea to sneak performances at some of our favorite spots around town, and share stories about what it feels like to live here. Here’s the first one; with the song we wrote for this city, on top of Rocko’s downtown Loft.

Lana Del Rey “Hunger Games” Comedic Parody (WATCH!)

10 Feb

Everyone already knows how obsessed I am with the Hunger Games trilogy and some people even know my thoughts on Lana Del Rey, but this video is a perfect marriage of the two. You take the great books of the Hunger Games, put it to the terrible song “Video Games” by LDR and suddenly, you have a song I LOVE!
