Living In Los Angeles – Chapter One

Beta Wolf is from Los Angeles. We had an idea to sneak performances at some of our favorite spots around town, and share stories about what it feels like to live here. Here’s the first one; with the song we wrote for this city, on top of Rocko’s downtown Loft.

My darling friend Holly Hamilton sent me this link today, knowing I needed something to smile about (and also knowing that I don’t care about football, but I DO care about funny videos by fabulous duos).

Wood Rings Player (WATCH!)

“A tree’s year rings are analysed for their strength, thickness and rate of growth. This data serves as basis for a generative process that outputs piano music based on the year ring data. Those are analyzed for their thickness and growth rate and are then mapped to a scale which is again defined by the overall appeareance of the wood (ranging from dark to light and from strong texture to light texture). The foundation for the music is certainly found in the defined ruleset of programming and hardware setup, but the data acquired from every tree interprets this ruleset very differently.”

Attention Makeup Artists and Lovers (WATCH)

26 Oct

Rick Genest (aka “Zombie Boy”) was brought in by L’Oreal to prove the value of their new product, Dermablend Pro.

Zombie Boy is most known for his full body tattoos, made public in Gaga’s “Born This Way” video. “The undead-obsessed model has covered the majority of his person with tattoos meticulously designed to make him look like a walking, decomposing corpse.”

If Dermablend Pro can work this well, I’ll be adding it to my makeup collection, sooner than later.
